About Matt

Hello! My name is Matt Bordallo, MA, OG-T and I am the founder of The Future is Fluent Literacy Solutions. Born on the island of Guam, I have had the privilege of serving students and families across San Francisco, Hawaiʻi, San Mateo County and Contra Costa County. With a decade of experience in education, I have worked as an Elementary Classroom Teacher (Go 2nd Grade!), Literacy Coach, PreK-3rd Early Literacy Program Specialist, and Literacy Administrator, helping students build strong literacy skills at the school, district, and county levels.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching Reading from the University of San Francisco, where I also earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. My specialized training includes the Orton-Gillingham approach through the Orton-Gillingham Academy and the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council at the University of La Verne(the only program of its kind in California). I am also trained in LETRS for Early Childhood and SEEDS of Learning for children ages 3–5. Grounded in Literacy Science, my expertise spans instructional design, change management, and continuous improvement to build sustainable, research-based literacy models. I am passionate about driving systemic growth, refining instructional workflows, and delivering personalized literacy support that strengthens foundational skills, accelerates student achievement, and fosters a lifelong love of reading.

My background as a classroom teacher, literacy leader, and reading specialist inspired me to found The Future is Fluent Literacy Solutions. Through direct intervention and targeted consulting, I partner with families, educators, and schools to deliver high-quality, evidence-based literacy solutions. By driving continuous improvement and applying structured change management frameworks, I help organizations and households implement effective intervention strategies, optimize learning outcomes, and build a fluent future where every student unlocks their full potential.
